Former President Donald Trump might just have a trick or two up his sleeve. Even now, after all the events since the US Capitol riots leading up to his exit from the White House, Trump is not ready to accept his defeat. According to the latest report, Trump is planning a revenge tour around the country after the end of his second impeachment trial. This time, he plans to campaign against Republicans who oppose him.

A Republican close to Trump told Insider, "Even he recognises that we have Trump fatigue. Even he knows that you can get overexposed, and he wore the electorate out. And that was part of the problem," adding, "He clearly wore the country out with his behaviour between the election and the inauguration."

Trump has been advised against going out and railing against incumbent Republicans before the end of the trial despite the fact that his acquittal is almost predictable at this point.

"Twitter did him a favour," the Republican insider added, referring to Trump's lifetime ban from the social media platform early this year in light of the January 6 riots at the US Capitol. Even so, advisors are reportedly telling Trump that he should speak publicly soon in order to not lose his grip on the party.

In the same insider report, a former Trump campaign adviser reveals that the longer Trump stays at Mar-A-Lago, the less of a serious 2024 contender he becomes. Trump moved with wife Melania to Mar-A-Lago directly after leaving the White House.

According to the Insider report, Trump's tour would reportedly focus on the ten House Republicans who voted for his impeachment. One of the possible targets is likely to be Anthony Gonzalez, who represents a district outside Cleveland, Ohio - a district which Trump won with 57 per cent of the vote in 2020. The ten Republicans who voted to impeach Trump are Rep. Liz Cheney, Rep. Tom Rice, Rep. Dan Newhouse, Rep. Adam Kinzinger, Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, Rep. Fred Upton, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, Rep. Peter Meijer, Rep. John Katko and Rep. David Valadao.

Trump, who reportedly values loyalty over anything else, will also be preparing to challenge any Senator who votes for his conviction in the upcoming impeachment trial. Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski would be one to be targeted as she has been one of his most outspoken Republican critics during his time in office. She was one of five Republicans who voted with Democrats last month to strike down a resolution saying that an impeachment trial for a former president would be unconstitutional.

The latest poll from Quinnipiac reveals that the vast majority of Republican voters are still in Trump's camp. Data released on February 4, 2021, shows that 86 percent of Republicans believe the Senate should acquit Trump and 76 percent of them believe the lie that there was widespread fraud in the election.

Speculations and information from insiders aside, Trump's spokesperson Jason Miller came clear telling the publication that it was "too soon to discuss specific 2022 campaign activity".

Trump might be really eager to go after congressional Republicans who he thinks have betrayed him, particularly House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, who voted to impeach him. Insiders reveal that it might have angered the former president that Cheney won the support of 145 of her colleagues to stay in the position with only 61 voting to remove her after a wing of the party forced a vote on whether she was to stay in position.

Former RNC spokesman Doug Heye told Insider that Trump "is clearly shell shocked from the reaction to January 6 and losing his social media platform... We don't know how long that will last, but it's safe to assume we'll be hearing from him at some point."

Twitter users had mixed reactions over this latest update. " Trump Plotting Petty Revenge Tour Against #Republicans Who Abandoned Him, Says Report This is blackmail straight up, to ensure #GOP does not support his #ImpeachmentTrial. Time for #GOP to band together as one and denounce this vermin once and for all," one tweeted. "Trump is a perfect example of what the word ignore should be used for," another tweeted. "These bully boy tactics are strategic in their timing before the Republicans need to vote him out, for good. He’s using scare and bully again, such a child," another tweeted.
