Trump fans chant 'LeBron James sucks' at Pennsylvania, Internet dubs POTUS a 'clown' for mocking a 'humanitarian'

The elections are in full swing in the United States and President Donald Trump's rally ahead of election day saw NBA star LeBron James get some brickbats from Trump supporters. In his last pitch to the voters in Pennsylvania, Trump spoke about the Los Angeles Lakers star player.

"How about basketball?" Trump asked while segueing into a tangent about NBA television ratings at a rally in Avoca, Pennsylvania. "How about LeBron? I felt badly for LeBron, very badly. Down 71% and that's with the championship. I didn't watch one shot. I get bored. Back, forth, back, forth. You know why? When they don't respect our country, when they don't respect our flag, nobody wants to watch."

"And the NFL is down," Trump continued, still on the topic of TV ratings. "The NFL is way down. You gotta stand for our flag. You gotta really be great to our flag and to our anthem and if you don't do that, we're not watching." It was at this moment when the crowd present there started chanting: "LeBron James sucks." Twitter though, especially LeBron fans, weren't pleased with the way things panned out. There was quite the outburst on social media platforms as they took potshots at Trump and came to the NBA GOATs rescue.

"LeBron James has done more for American education than the actual secretary of education. Chanting 'LeBron sucks' isn’t the flex you think it is, idiots," read one of the tweets.

The Athletic's Jemele Hill minced no words in her post. "LeBron James is not just a better person than Trump, but a true, self-made man. Trump will be remembered as a clown. LeBron, as a great humanitarian," she wrote.

"#LeBronJames As someone who has watched LeBron James decimate opponents with his skill & mindset, I very seriously doubt that he will earmark even one minute of his time concerning himself with what DT thinks," read one of the tweets.

"Ohio is a swing state with 18 electoral votes. This guy currently has people chanting 'lebron James sucks.' @KingJames himself has paid for some of these citizens to go to college and built a school himself to provide an education. Oh yeah, and an NBA championship," a fan opined.

It wasn't just LeBron. "I don’t understand. Everywhere the prez goes he is trashing someone. Lady Gaga, LeBron James, the Romneys....it is like eternal jr. high school with this guy," a fan commented.

That LeBron has been vocal in his thoughts on Trump is no secret either. He famously called him a "bum" in 2017 after he criticized Golden State Warriors Steph Curry for declining a trip to the White House soon after they won the NBA Championship that season.
