MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: On March 30, history was made when former President Donald Trump got indicted by a New York grand jury over a hush money payment of $130K made to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election. He became the first president in US history to be charged with a crime and will face 34 felony counts of falsification of business records. However, the question that arises- Is he going to join some of history's most famous mugshots?

Trump will be placed under arrest on Tuesday, April 4. However, the details of his mugshot aren't clear yet. While one of Trump's attorney Alina Habba, said on Monday, April 3, that "there's no need" of musghot. Habba explained, as per Independent, "I like transparency. I think that in certain situations, it’s a good thing. I do have a problem with leaking of pictures. I think that because we’re in a campaign." The attorney added that releasing the mugshot shouldn’t be necessary because the former president is a public figure.

How indictment may affect Donald Trump’s future as conservatives say it could make his base 'more solid'

"Mugshots are for people so that you recognise who they are. He is the most recognised face in the world, let alone the country right now, so there’s no need for that. There’s no need for the theatrics," she said. On the eve of his arraignment, Trump also took to Truth Social to say that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg should "INDICT HIMSELF." He issued a series of posts on his social media accounts bashing the district attorney. He wrote, "Wow! District Attorney Bragg just illegally LEAKED the various points, and complete information, on the pathetic Indictment against me,” Trump wrote. “I know the reporter and so, unfortunately, does he. This means that he MUST BE IMMEDIATELY INDICTED. Now, if he wants to really clean up his reputation, he will do the honorable thing and, as District Attorney, INDICT HIMSELF.” In a follow-up post on his social media site, Trump called on Bragg to "resign, NOW!"

'Trump will not be subjected to a mug shot'

This comes after a source revealed that "Trump will not be put in handcuffs, placed in a jail cell or subjected to a mug shot," stated Yahoo! Prior to this, one of Trump's friends, Toni Holt Kramer, claimed that Trump believes that his mugshot will become “the most famous one in the history of the world”, reports PerthNow. He said, "President Trump and his supporters know the mugshot sums up the witch-hunt against Mr Trump and is emblematic of everything that is wrong with the banana republic that Biden’s America has become. President Trump knows his mugshot will become the most famous mugshot ever in the history of the world. It’s something that will become symbolic of the Left’s attack on Trump and any attempt to use it to humiliate him will backfire spectacularly." "Everyone is going to want it. Even his detractors," he added.

Though it is still unclear if Trump, whose charges remain sealed but may get unsealed when he appears in court on April 4, will have a mugshot or not. But if he has one, he will join the list of famous and iconic figures' mugshots in history.
