Trump and Melania test Covid-19 positive, POTUS mocked for playing down virus: 'Should've worn mask, Donald'

Trump tweeted, 'Tonight, FLOTUS, and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!'

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for Covid-19 on October 2. The news was confirmed after POTUS took to Twitter. He wrote, “Tonight, FLOTUS, and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

POTUS was last seen in public on Thursday afternoon on October 1 after he returned to the White House post a fundraising trip to New Jersey. CNN reported that he did not appear ill, though did not speak to reporters as he walked into his residence.

Previously, we reported that Trump’s senior-most and closest White House aide, Hope Hicks, has tested positive for the Covid-19. Reports suggest that Hicks, who serves as counselor to Trump had been in close proximity to POTUS and had traveled with him to a rally in Minnesota on September 30 after which she tested positive on Thursday, October 1. White House has not released any official statement on the present news.No sooner that the news of POTUS and FLOTUS getting Covid-19 dropped, it caused a furor on the Internet. Some mocked POTUS while others prayed for his good health. While many are bashing Trump for not taking the virus seriously, fact-checking reports have now come out that say Trump did not call Covid-19 a hoax. 

A concerned user wrote, “The American people are praying for our POTUS and FLOTUS! Get better, we need you!” A user wrote in praise of Trump, “Mr. President I'm literally sitting here crying and throwing up at this news. You are the bravest man I have ever seen. I named my first son Donald after you. If anything happened to you I don't know what I would do. Thank you for ending racism.”  Some joked on the health of POTUS and FLOTUS. “Missed opportunity to have it be a rickroll link.” 

Another wrote mocking Trump, “Don't worry. It's just the sniffles. At least we'll be spared the second presidential debate.” Another wrote, "So happy your fearless nonbeliever president Trump tested positive for COVID.... should've of wore your mask, Donald." A user wrote on Trump’s Covid-19 news, “You've got to be kidding me JT. He is the most protected person on the planet calling this a hoax that it's nothing to be worried about and he managed to get it. The stock market in the morning is going to take and confidence in the United States is going to tumble.” Another trolled Trump, "Me finding out Trump tested positive for COVID-19 after saying it was a hoax." Another concurred, "Trump after we show him all the times he called Covid a hoax #TrumpHasCovid."

A user trolling Trump wrote, "Trump supporters when they can’t say corona is a hoax anymore." Another user concurred on twitter, "The man who called this a hoax, made fun of the public for wearing masks, downplayed the virus...has gotten covid. I can’t help but laugh. Karma is real. #TrumpHasCovid."
