Donald Trump labeled ‘corrupt’ after Fox News host Sean Hannity reports on ex-POTUS ‘intense exchange’ with Judge Arthur Engoron
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During the non-jury civil trial stemming from New York Attorney General Letitia James' lawsuit against Donald Trump and his businesses in the state, 2024 Republican presidential candidate and New York Judge Arthur Engoron exchanged verbal barbs as the former president took the stand on Monday morning.
Kevin Wallace, a lawyer representing the New York Attorney General's Office, began to question Trump during this unprecedented appearance, specifically focusing on his financial statements.
Following the news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to report on Trump and Engoron’s “tense exchange”.
After which, the internet took a brutal jab at ex-POTUS as several social media users called him “corrupt”.

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website which was titled “'VERY, VERY UNFAIR TRIAL': Tense Exchanges as Trump Takes the Stand in New York [DETAILS].”
In the article, it was stated that Donald Trump had mixed up several times with New York Judge Arthur Engoron.
When Kevin Wallace initiated the questioning of Trump during his remarkable testimony about his financial statements, Trump remarked that these statements were "not really documents the banks paid much attention to."
Wallace then inquired how Trump had that knowledge, to which, the former president replied that he had been engaged in dealings with banks for "50 years, and they look at the deals."
He continued, “We’ll explain it as this trial goes along- crazy trial.”
However, Judge Engoron expressed a desire for a more expedited line of questioning, advising Wallace to focus on obtaining concise answers. He urged, "Please just answer the questions — no speeches."
Trump's defense attorney Chris Kise interjected by noting that the questions were open-ended, necessitating detailed responses.
Wallace proceeded to present Trump with his 2014 financial condition statement and read a section indicating that Trump was responsible for preparing that statement.
In response, Trump explained, "What they wanted was as much information as we could give them so that they could do their statements." He added that he bore the responsibility of providing the necessary information to the preparers.
When queried about his personal responsibilities, Trump remarked, "It was so long ago, but well beyond the statute of limitations for anyone else, but not me because I'm sure the judge will rule against me."
In response to this, Judge Engoron directed a question to Trump's defense attorney, Kise, asking whether Trump's comment was a necessary part of the narrative. Kise requested that the judge allow the former president of the United States "a little latitude."
Judge Engoron, however, pressed Trump to "answer the question," and urged, "You can attack me as much as you want, but please answer the question.”
Later, when Wallace went on to ask additional questions, Trump continued speaking.
Judge Engoron blasted at Kise saying, “Can you control your client? This is not a political rally; this is a courtroom. I’ve asked the witness several times to answer the questions. Maybe you should have a talk with him right now."
Kise argued that certain questions "call for narratives."
Subsequently, Judge Engoron criticized Trump, stating, "In addition to not answering, you're repetitive... Mr Kise, can you control your client?"
Kise countered by pointing out that the questions were not ‘tight’ and emphasized that Trump is not a lawyer.
Meanwhile, Wallace initiated another series of questions, and Judge Engoron directed his frustration towards Kise, exclaiming, "Mr Kise, I beseech you to control him. If you can’t, I will."
Kise, in defense of the former president, argued that the judge should be interested in hearing the witness's complete responses.
To this, Engoron retorted, "I don't want to hear everything he has to say."
