Donald Trump Jr tests Covid-19 positive, Internet says White House needs 'sanitizing before Biden-Harris arrival'
'He's been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended Covid-19 guidelines,' said a spokesman
Donald Trump Jr has tested positive for Covid-19 on November 20. "Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result," a spokesman said to CNN. "He's been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended Covid-19 guidelines."
Trump Jr has been the latest figure who has been close to President Donald Trump to have contracted the virus. Previously several aides in the White House had contracted the infection that has claimed over 253,000 lives in the United States alone. Earlier Trump, first lady Melania Trump, their youngest son Barron, chief of staff Mark Meadows, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Thom Tillis and three White House reporters had tested positive.
On July 4, Trump Jr's girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle had also tested positive for the virus when the duo was campaigning for Trump. CNN reported that Trump Jr has been among 250 guests who attended the White House's indoor election night party on November 3. That party had nearly every attendee not wearing a mask that is considered to be key as a precaution amid the raging pandemic. Other party attendees have since tested positive after the party which includes Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and White House political affairs director Brian Jack.
As per reports, Trump Jr had earlier spread misinformation about the coronavirus. In October, he told Fox News that the number of deaths from the pandemic is now "almost nothing” while the US is one of the worst-hit countries with the virus.

During the summer of 2020, Trump Jr’s Twitter account was restricted for sharing a video that spread false information regarding the drug hydroxychloroquine and he shared a Facebook meme creating doubt about the efficacy of masks to stop the spread of the virus.
Social media users ridiculed Trump Jr's casual remarks on Covid-19. A user quipped, “Covid is literally the only positive thing about Donald Trump Jr.” A user joked, “Donald Trump Jr earlier this month: It’s time to reopen! Covid is over! The Covid in his body right now”. Another said, "That White House will need a complete sanitizing prior to Biden-Harris arrival." A user quipped, “I get home and find out that Donald Trump, Jr. tested positive for COVID-19.Trump Inc. truly is a clown car...if a hand grenade was dressed as a clown.” Another posted, “Just read that Donald Trump, Jr. caught the TRUMP VIRUS. Do I feel sorry for him? Don’t think so.”
