Trump says Anthony Scaramucci was fired for 'making a fool of himself', Internet reminds POTUS 'you hired him'

A few even joked about Trump's contradiction over hiring the former White House communications director, 'Isn't the Mooch one of the good people you have surrounded yourself with?'

President Donald Trump may have his hands full with the Covid-19 pandemic in the US, but that still hasn't stopped him from taking on some of his rivals on social media. The latest to come under his radar is former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on Twitter.

On Sunday, August 9, Trump tweeted, "@Scaramucci, who just made a fool of himself as he got taken apart by @SteveHiltonx, only lasted 11 days in his favorite of all time Administration, before being fired for, again, making a fool of himself. Anthony is a loser who begged to come back. I said 'No Thanks'." The tweet slammed Scaramucci who recently appeared in Fox News's talk show, hosted by Steve Hilton. Hilton grilled Scaramucci for supporting presumptive Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Hilton also called Trump a "bully" on the show. Trump was also slammed on the show for politicizing the news around the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2017, Scaramucci, nicknamed 'The Mooch' was axed as the White House communications director just 10 days after he assumed his role. Scaramucci had a tumultuous and brief tenure in the White House. Each day, it seemed, brought either a new revelation about him or controversy of his own making.

As the tweet went viral, Internet users decided to pitch in with their take on the issue. One user replied to Trump, "According to you everybody you ever fired is a fool even though you hired them in the first place." Another mocked Trump by saying that he always hire the best, "'ONLY THE BEST' Trump hires 'only the best' until they are the worst! And the time between being the best and worst varies depending on how much the individuals fawn over America's greatest narcissist. In terms of HR and hiring practices, Trump gets a massive FAILING grade."

Some Trump supporters, however, slammed Scaramucci and said, "Scaramucci is a traitor to Republican values. How dare he say we aren't an inclusive party. He must not be very in tune with our movement to #MAGA. This is who we truly are. He was good at one thing: Mooching on your Presidency to build up his own profile."

Another user supported Scaramucci and said, "The Mooch is already having the last laugh on you. You just don’t know it yet." Some users called Trump a bad boss and said, "TRUMP: WORLD'S WORST BOSS You only have to look at how many people have resigned from Trump's administration or been "fired" to know what an atrocious leader Trump is. His administration has been and still is, a total fiasco. People who cannot keep their staff are the problem!"

Some replied to the tweet referring to the pandemic and said, "I don’t know if anyone has informed you or not but we’re dealing with a national crisis. A rising pandemic. Thousands of deaths every day. More than 5 million Americans infected. Per-capita, testing is very low & people are waiting as long as two or more weeks to get test results." Another angry user c0ommented saying, "160,000 people have died from #COVID19 and the President still has yet to come up with a national health care plan and testing plan."

A few even joked about Trump's contradiction, "Isn't the Mooch one of the good people you have surrounded yourself with?"
