BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT: A new video has surfaced that shows 6-year-old Dominick Krankall kicking a flaming soccer ball before being severely burned. The evidence straightaway refutes the initial claims of the victim's family that he was deliberately set on fire by an 8-year-old neighbor who grabbed a lighter and gasoline before alluring the boy to come near him. The cops have now confirmed that there is no evidence of foul play.

Previously, Aaron Krankall, Domonick's father, had said that his son told him that he was set on fire by some boys. However, the new video, released by one of the accused families, shows Dominick with four children playing with a flaming soccer ball in a Bridgeport backyard. The 6-year-old even wiped the flammable on his pants. The accused family told WFSB that even they feel emotional about the incident. The surveillance video shows the boys playing with gas cans, and lighter, and kicking a flaming ball around. The family did not release the video as they wanted the police to continue with their investigation. “They were interacting in the backyard being boys," said Laura Giacobbe, the accused mother.

Laura claimed that her upstairs neighbor was supposed to watch over the four boys as she wasn't home at the time of the accident. She said, "Dominick was not left there to die. My 11 year old son, Lorenzo saved him, took his bare hands and took the fire out on his face." However, Dominick's father had an opposite statement when the incident first came to light and claimed that Laura's children threw the flaming soccer ball at Dominick. Aaron said, "Next thing you know, I just hear my son screaming, help they set me on fire, mommy help they set me on fire."

Bridgeport police last week said there is nothing in the video that proves the children deliberately lit Dominick on fire. The bullying claims were also denied by Attorney Christian Young who said, "It certainly wasn’t a young boy being lured around the corner by some pyromaniac bullies."

World comes in support of Dominick

The incident quickly spread in the streets and there was outstanding support. Nearly $600,000 were raised for the family on a GoFundMe page. The victim got a chance to hang out with the New York Yankees and the supporters even took the streets for a parade as the child recovered.

However, it wasn't easy for the Giacobbe family as Laura claimed that they got threats from strangers. She said, "The police department had to sit in front of the home overnight, to make sure nothing happened. It was stated the house would be lit on fire, they were going to drag my son and myself down the street and let us suffer from the pain. For closure, for the truth now, for closure, I want this out there so I can have this out there. No more bullying, there was no bullying. Come out with the truth and not use their child for money. This is sickening, very sad that you can wrap a child and lie all over the world."
