Duane "Dog" Chapman has lost nearly 17 pounds in the weeks after his wife Beth Chapman's death in June. At the time, he had revealed that he was finding it difficult to have any food.

According to a report by Page Six, he said that dropping some weight was actually good for his health. "I'm a little faster now because weight slows you down. I want to maintain this weight, maybe a little bit more, but it's helped my health. I can feel it," he shared.

Since his wife Beth succumbed to cancer, Duane has dropped two pant sizes. He, in fact, recalled a time when Beth would tell him that she loved his body and would say, "I like your little tummy, Big Daddy."

Duane shared that he now prefers to eat only when his body really craves food. He added that "feelings are really strange" and that he does not want to eat unless he is really hungry as he wants to feel "something". While he continues to grieve over the loss of his beloved wife, his appetite has slowly started to come back.

It has been almost two months since Beth died and Duane recently revealed that their children were really struggling without her. Speaking to People, he shared that some of her kids were "barely making it" ever since the death of their mother.

Beth leaves behind four children — 20-year-old Bonnie Chapman, 18-year-old Garry Chapman, 34-year-old Dominic Davis and 26-year-old Cecily Chapman, who is Beth's daughter from her former husband whom Duane had adopted. He shared that the children are doing their best to contribute at home with whatever they can, though most of the responsibilities fall on him.

He also said that while he was open to the idea of pursuing another relationship when he was ready, he had promised his late wife that he would never re-marry. "What deal we said is I will never take 'Beth' off my chest, I have her name here. And I will never get married," he revealed.

"It's not been that long. They are helping cook because Beth was a fantastic cook," Duane said. Beth passed away on June 26 at the age of 51 after battling with throat cancer. She was married to Duane for around 13 years.

Bonnie Chapman also opened up about her mother's last few moments of consciousness and recalled how Beth was in the bathroom when she asked Duane to come inside. "My mom was naked in the bathroom and told my dad to look at her. And he goes, 'I am looking at you'. And she goes, 'No, look at me'. And then she was standing there and she started gasping," Bonnie said.
