‘RHORI’ star finally explains her odd two-boyfriend situation and why one of them isn’t on show
‘The Real Housewives of Rhode Island’ (RHORI) fans recently witnessed Kelsey Swanson opening up about the “other man” she has been dating via the Bravo show’s latest episode. In her April 13 interview with Pop Culture, Swanson shared more about her odd situation involving two boyfriends. She mentioned that while she was ready and “prepared” for everyone to question her romantic relationship, she did not expect to be called a “polygamist.” Additionally, she was shocked to learn that her relationship with her longtime boyfriend and her “other man,” Bill L’Europa, was labeled in such a way.
Referring to fellow cast members and their views on her love life, Swanson said that, “I was used to it, and I was prepared for it, and I just wanted to be open.” She mentioned that she was not “mad” about fellow housewives’ confusion about her relationship status. Sharing more about being called “polygamist,” she mentioned, “The thing is that I’ve never been labeled a polygamist.” It was because she had been unmarried, and that she “never considered herself that.” She intended to keep her relationship with no label as such. “The only thing that I cared about was Rosie [DiMare] was saying it, not anybody else. So that was where my frustration was at, not at actually talking about it.”
Furthermore, ‘RHORI’ star mentioned that having her fellow cast members talk about L’Europa was quite a struggle for her. It was because he was never her “boyfriend.” But he was “somebody that (she) was seeing on the side.” However, after her fellow ‘RHORI’ cast members shared their thoughts, it did not sit well with Swanson. “They wanted to label it right away, ‘Oh, she has two boyfriends,’ but no, there was no label on him at that point,” she clarified. Additionally, she talked about her longtime boyfriend, who was rumored to be John Caprio, and why he did not want to be on the show.
She recalled having him in the early casting tapes while the show was in the development phase. However, when he learned it would be a ‘Real Housewives’ show, he changed his mind about being in front of the camera. “He was the one who was going to be on the show, however, once we realized it was going to be a Housewife show…he was like, ‘Yeah, no. I’m not putting my trust in six ladies to not talk s**t about me, so I’m gonna be out on this one,” she recalled. She added that L’Europ also did not want to be “involved,” but he did it for her. Furthermore, fans may have witnessed Swanson sharing more during her April 5 exclusive interview with Bravo, where she talked about the “labeling” situation. “There was somebody who was also occupying my time when my boyfriend was not around and when he was with somebody else. Why do you have to label it?” she noted. Watch new episodes of ‘RHORI’ on Bravo on Sundays at 9/8c. Also, episodes are available on Peacock for next-day streaming.
