'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story' Episode 3 Preview: This marriage is falling apart
Shooting straight off the headlines, the second season of Alexandra Cunningham's anthology series 'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story' premiered on June 2. While the first two episodes showed us how the couple had supported each other through thick and thin, the next episode titled 'Marriage Encounter' will show them at a therapy session. The couple undertakes therapy at church to touch base with their feelings. They try to envision a future together and hope they can work towards attaining that goal.
'Marriage Encounter' also brings the final straw to the picture – Linda Kolkena (Rachel Keller). The young woman who Dan Broderick beings to have an affair with starts working at his office as a receptionist but is quick to rise up the ranks to work with one of the most acclaimed lawyers around. These incidents take place just around the time another couple – friends of Dan and Betty – are getting a divorce.
How does the arrival of a new woman trigger Betty Broderick? What could Dan have done differently? All these questions are answered in the upcoming episode as audiences follow the true crime story from Betty's perspective. The episode also lends a sneak peek into how Betty and Dan react to a separation within their friend circle and how this indirectly affects their own marriage.
For those of you who're planning to binge on this gripping series, the two back-to-back episodic premiere followed Dan (Christian Slater) and Betty (Amanda Peet) – a power couple with the perfect marriage. After all, they did excel at medical and law school together, with Betty helping Dan work multiple jobs by taking care of the household and helping him study. Episode 1 and 2 focused on their backstory and offered a glimpse into the deterioration of their so-called 'perfect marriage'. In Episode 3, this is explored deeper as Linda's presence in the office begins to affect Betty.
Following the premiere, 'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story' returns to the show's usual time slot at 10 pm ET on the USA Network.
