Internet believes Kaylee Goncalves's sister Alivea 'hurt' investigation by revealing phone call details
MOSCOW, IADHO: Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened on the night the four University of Idaho students were murdered and Kaylee Goncalves' sister, Alivea, reportedly gave the authorities a lot of crucial information about the horrific crime. However, "web sleuths" now claim that she may have hurt the investigation by doing so. This is another unproven and wild theory with no basis whatsoever.
Moscow police reported that the bodies of the four students — Ethan Chapin, 20, Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Madison Mogen, 21 — were discovered on the second and third floors of the residence after they were reportedly stabbed to death on Sunday, November 13.

A Reddit user said, "Kaylee's sister releasing the phone record info helped or hurt the investigation?" Alivea reportedly revealed crucial information about the crime scene, including the six calls Goncalves made to her ex-boyfriend, Jack DuCoeur, between 2.26 am and 2.52 am.
The Reddit "analyzed" the information shared by Alivea. The user wrote, "The more I think about it, the more I think that had K's sister shared her discoveries with police instead of the public, the investigation might be further along."
The user believed that sharing logs with the public has made DuCoeur a prime suspect. " Without the phone logs, I do not believe JD would've garnered nearly as much speculation/attention. Releasing the number of calls and the time of those calls was detrimental, whether JD is innocent or guilty," the person went on, adding, "Informing the public that calls were made to JD close to when the murders began put him on the map, so to speak. Before this, he was mentioned in passing, much like Madison's boyfriend, Jake."
The person put forth both possibilities, what would happen if DuCoeur was tied to the crime scene, and if not. And how Alivea phone log information would have affected both prospects. The person wrote, "If JD was involved, the call info would've made him hyper-aware that the focus would be on him and give him time to create explanations for discrepancies in his initial story/get rid of anything that could possibly tie him to the crime. If he wasn't involved, giving the call info only to police would've kept him from being at the center of so many theories about him being suspect# 1."
The last time Goncalves and Mogen were seen together was at a food truck after being dropped off by a cab. Police have since stated that they do not think the driver was involved. The current search area around the house is now included in a new map that the police have released, and they are requesting more recent security footage, as per ABC13.
