'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2020': Usher's act leaves fans in awe but some call him out for lip-syncing
New Orleans ushered in a new decade with Usher and his fantastic performance, during which he sang and grooved to popular hits 'Yeah' and 'Without You'. Even though the live audience cheered and were in awe of how Usher never lost his touch when it came to delivering an applause-worthy act, there was a section of fans who thought he could've done better than just lip-syncing and dancing to his own tunes.
"Does this man age at all?... and lk at those moves....THERE'S NO Slowing this man down! Thank you #Usher for your Great performance. #RockinEve #NOLAxRockinEve HAPPY #NewYears2020 !!" a fan wrote. While another asked: "Is it just me or did usher only actually sing 30 secs of his 5 min performance!? Gotta give it your all on new years for a decade usher! #RockinEve #2020NewYear"
However, a lot of his loyal followers thought his act was a show-stealer and New Year's Eve couldn't have gotten better. "Usher performing yeah live has been the highlight of my 2020 thus far #RockinEve," a user tweeted.
Unimpressed and somewhat miffed, an online fan expressed disappointment over Usher not singing. "Do any of these “singers” actually sing?!? I mean Usher isn’t even trying to lip synch..... if I paid to see one of these concerts, I’d be pissed!! I could go to the night club and watch folks dance!! #RockinEve #NOLAxRockinEve Boooooo!!!!"
"Usher is literally just...dancing to his own music on a loudspeaker which is an interesting flex. #RockinEve," another user posted.
Usher was one of the main performers of ABC's 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020' show.
