'Diary of a Future President' Episode 3 sees Gabi put on her mom shoes leaving Sam unsure about their future
This week's episode of 'Diary of a Future President' was focussed on relationships and how it forms an integral part of our lives. Gabi Canero-Reed (Selenis Leyva) and Sam Faber (Michael Wever) are trying to figure if dating each other is the best possible route for them right now because her kids - Elena (Tess Romero) and Bobby (Charlie Bushnell) - need her right now.
Sam finds the cutest way to ask Gabi out on a date. He requests her to proofread a document that had the words "would you like to go to dinner with me" but left out punctuation in the sentence so that she would notice, and she agreed. She was excited like a teenage girl, got dressed in black and wore her red lipstick (the one she had been saving for special days like these).
As she was ready to greet Sam, her friend, who had been helping her get ready for the date, spotted the white bra strap sticking out of her sleeve and advised she put on a black one. Gabi took her up on the suggestion and began looking for the black bra and on entering her son, Bobby's room, she found it - only strapped on to a pillow that was used as a dummy for a woman's torso. Bobby and his other friends from school were trying to figure out what second base meant using the dummy.
Gabi put on her mom shoes and began schooling Bobby about sex. Unfortunately, she had to take a raincheck on their special date because it was her time to be the parent her son needs. Actually, also her daughter, who came home disappointed because she wasn't appointed captain of the hurricane watch despite delivering a well-informed speech. She was devastated over her loss and shared with Gabi that being the captain was her reason for being. However, Elena was got a little spiel on how she should explore things now and focus on having fun. Later, she joined the morning announcement team at school and began reading out special news. She had found her reason for being.
Meanwhile, Gabi rejects Sam's idea of a couple's vacation citing reasons that were very valid - she wanted to be there for her kids. Sam acknowledged her emotions but also said he was unsure if he would be able to take this further if it meant including the kids all the time because he and his ex-wife never had kids.
In a nutshell, episode 3 ended with a lot of uncertainties, which could or couldn't be fixed in the coming times. But, Bobby and classmate Monyca (Avantika Vandanapu) were able to find solace in each other's company. They had a sort of peaceful ending, at least for now.
