‘Desperate for attention’: Nancy Mace shredded for claiming she ‘hasn't seen the evidence’ against Donald Trump in Georgia case

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Nancy Mace, the Republican Representative of South Carolina, has sparked furious backlash after claiming that she hasn’t “seen the evidence” against Donald Trump in the Georgia case.

The 45-year-old Representative, who has been considered a possible running mate for Trump, appeared on Comedy Central’s 'The Daily Show' on Monday, October 30 where she touched on several current political topics, including the ousting of former speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Biden’s impeachment inquiry.

During the conversation, this week’s guest host Charlamagne Tha God asked Mace whether she believed the credibility of the evidence presented against Trump.

"Which evidence?" she questioned, bringing laughter and disapproving groans from the audience. “Which, I mean, which… Which indictment? I mean, which one?” she continued.

“I haven’t seen the evidence yet,” Mace further stated, referring to the charges against the former president and his allies for allegedly attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

“Again, I do a lot of civil rights work, and everyone is allowed due process under the law and if they’re found guilty, they take responsibility for that. But I haven’t seen evidence to show that he’s guilty of that,” the Representative claimed.

At one point, Charlamagne questioned Mace about whether she believed the investigation into Biden was a "waste of time" in light of the conflicts in Israel and Ukraine as well as other more urgent matters affecting the Americans.

“Well, corruption is a real problem in this country, and I have seen bank accounts … of the president’s grandchildren with money directly from communist China,” Mace said.

The congresswoman also claimed that she has seen crucial evidence against President Biden and she wants the public to see it.

“That should not be happening in our country, and it should be exposed for every … American to see and then decide whether or not that’s OK. Whether there’s an impeachment or not, I want people to see the evidence that I’ve seen and make a decision for themselves,” she stated.

Mace’s remarks on 'The Daily Show' garnered immense social media attention, with users slamming her for claiming that she hadn’t seen evidence against Trump, as news of the interview surfaced on X, formerly Twitter.

“She’s been in a time chamber with no outside contact since 2016!!” one user said. “it's always easier to claim something false when you intentionally refuse to investigate any evidence to the contrary,” a second user wrote.

“My Queen has fallen to new depths,” a third user attacked while a fourth one stated, “Her whole objective is not to represent for constituents, but to get on television.”

“Again... how this person is a sitting congresswoman is beyond me. Just unfathomable,” a fifth user fumed.

“Does she really believe this or just towing tge line? Either way, it should disqualify her from serving and getting paid by the American people,” another one said.

“Desperate for attention and relevance, Nancy Mace wants to be a personality. She will end up voted out and working at the local Sonic,” one more person wrote.
