This comes after Marion Lewis, an 18-year-old suspect in Adams' assassination, was charged with more than a dozen felony counts just two days ago. The vehicle was allegedly being driven by Lewis, according to a proffer provided by Cook County prosecutors, NBC Chicago reported.
According to investigators, on April 17, a silver Audi with a paper license plate and distinctive discoloration pulled up alongside Jaslyn and her father on surveillance footage from the McDonald's on 3200 West Roosevelt Road, near the intersection with South Kedzie Avenue, at 4:18 pm. Prosecutors claim that two men wearing hoodies jumped out of the Audi and fired into Adams' vehicle before returning to the Audi, according to The Associated Press. Both victims were inside the car when they "heard gunshots and felt pain," according to Chicago police.
The girl, who had three siblings, was struck "multiple times" to the body, and the dad was struck to the torso, police said. Chicago Sun Times reported that police said the shooting was believed to be gang-related and less than three hours later, two people were shot in their car at a Popeyes in Humboldt Park, which investigators believe is connected to the McDonald’s shooting.
