'Delusions of grandeur': Internet shreds Trump as he claims he will win California if Jesus 'came down' to stop rigging
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA: Former President Donald Trump sparked a new backlash as he claimed that elections in blue states are "rigged" and that he could win California if Jesus came down as "scorekeeper."
At his rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Saturday, December 2, Trump, 77, covered a wide range of topics, including claims that he won the 2020 election against President Joe Biden, who beat him in California among other states that clinched the election for Democrats.
During his address, the real estate mogul claimed the election was rigged and that he would win in blue states like California and New York if the results weren't skewed, according to The Messenger.
Donald Trump, with a straight face, claims that, in an ‘unrigged’ election, he would win Illinois, New York, and California. Let that sink in. This is the kind of pathological delusion we’ve been dealing with for months. pic.twitter.com/lp8CvCAnMf

“I believe that if they didn’t have rigged elections out there, if they didn’t have all the paper bal– you know, they send out like 36 million ballots and nobody knows where the hell they’re going to or coming from,” he claimed.
“I think a few people know where they’re going to and a few people know where they’re coming from,” said Trump about California.
What did Donald Trump say about the California election?
Numerous recounts, investigations, and judicial proceedings pertaining to Trump's loss in the 2020 election have revealed no evidence that any election was manipulated to alter the result of any presidential contest in any state.
Yet, Trump claimed, "I think if you had a real election and Jesus came down and God came down and said, 'I'm going to be the scorekeeper here,' I think we would win there.”
"I think we'd win in Illinois, and I think we'd win in New York," he added after earlier mentioning California. Additionally, Trump asserted that Republicans could have won traditionally Democratic blue states "for years."
"I think for years we could have won them. These elections are rigged ... and we got to do something about it," he said. The former president also vowed to win in 2024 and give the country and himself a "comeback."
"It's going to be the greatest comeback in history — I'm not talking about comeback politically because I don't care about that — it will be the greatest comeback for a country," he said.
Donald Trump’s claims ridiculed on social media
After Trump’s remarks surfaced on social media, many users mocked him for his claims about his electoral chances.
“Delusions of grandeur,” one user said. “There wasn’t a single Biden/Harris sign here in California outside SF in 2020. You’re the one being delusional,” another tweeted.
“He literally believes he can never lose. And when he does, it's always rigged. He's been pulling this crap since 2016. When he lost the Iowa Caucuses to Ted Cruz in 2016, he demanded the Iowa GOP "hold another election" because he claimed Cruz's victory was "rigged,” a third user fumed.
“How do you sweat this much in December if you aren't on medication?” a user while another wrote, “Soy boy, go cry some more.”
“When he starts invoking the Lord's name, thé tape stopped 🙂 I can't stand it when hé does that,” someone else said.
