Oklahoma man killed in shooting at Rose State College, suspect arrested
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA: According to police, one person was killed and a suspected gunman was apprehended following a shooting on Monday at a community college just outside of Oklahoma City. At around 12:36 pm CT, Rose State College, located about 8 miles east of downtown Oklahoma City, issued its first active shooter alert.
The shooting forced the college to go into lockdown. Students first reported gunfire from the Humanities Building a little after 12:15 pm, according to a school spokesperson.

Two men got into a domestic situation
“We are currently experiencing an active shooter situation on campus,” the school posted in a statement on Twitter before adding “Please shelter in place and follow instructions from law enforcement officials. More information to follow as it becomes available.”

Following the alert the on-campus cops confronted the gunman, “They ordered him to drop the gun, which he did, and they took him into custody,” said Sid Porter Midwest City Police Chief. The statement was followed by the confirmation of the arrest of the suspect and "all clear" after lifting the lockdown. Midwest City Assistant Fire Chief Anthony Lopez as per NBC News said that in the shooting one person was dead. However, the identity hasn't been revealed yet.
As per KOCO 5, Police said two men got into a domestic situation, and it escalated into a shooting near the administrative building. Porter said that the school had just weeks before completed an exercise on what to do in the event of an active shooter.
The college stated that the event had been deeply distressing for the community. "We want to thank the Midwest City Police Department and other first responders for their quick and professional response during today's incident on campus," the college said.

Following the incident, all classes were canceled for the remainder of the day as well as tomorrow which is Tuesday. "Our top priority at this time is the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. We understand that this event has been deeply distressing for our community, and we are currently working to coordinate counseling services for those in need. We will be alerting our students, faculty, and staff as soon as these services become available", the statement read.
