LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher, in his 'Deaths in Politics' monologue in the past week, subtly shaded the expulsion of the New York GOP Rep George Santos from the House over ethics violation on December 1.

While talking about the recent deaths in politics on 'Real Time', he mentioned the deaths of the former First Lady Rosalynn Carter and the former United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who died on November 19 and November 29 respectively.

Maher also included the death of the former associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, Sandra Day O'Connor, on December 1.

In the same monologue, he also mentioned the "loss" of George Santos from the House which was followed by a large round of applause by the audience sitting inside the studio.

The audience seemed to have gotten the alleged joke of George Santos' political demise of sorts after he was expelled from the House after the bipartisan resolution was passed 311 to 114, with 105 Republicans voting in favor of expulsion, per CNN.

He continued in his monologue saying, "Congress finally did it," and added, "They kicked him out." He also added quipping, "He'll be fine" since he "knows how to write a resume."

Santos did not go quietly as he allegedly said that the Congress was "full of felons galore," before going on to note that Santos had said that the "Ethics committee is dead."

'The jokes in this clip are outstanding!'

Netizens reacted to Maher's rant and joined him in mocking Santos in the YouTube's comments section of the video clip. "If there were 6 political parties in power in the house, 5 parties would've teamed up to remove George Santos," said one viewer.

"Bill's monologue always gets me going here in early Saturday morning Finland," said another.

Someone else chimed in, saying, "Hilarious monologue."

"Here's to not seeing George Santos in the media ever again," said another social media user.

Another netizen quipped, "The jokes in this clip are outstanding!"

Why was George Santos expelled from the House?

On Friday, December 1, the House voted overwhelmingly to expel the indicted Rep George Santos of New York.

The charges against him include fabricating parts of his resume, House ethics violation along with a 23-count federal indictment including crimes like wire fraud and money laundering, per NBC.

“It’s over,” Santos said after the expulsion, before adding, “They just set a new, dangerous precedent for themselves."
