Death row inmate kills himself in jail after his execution had been postponed twice earlier and he couldn't bear to wait any longer
The Nevada Department of Corrections, on Monday, confirmed that the inmate, identified as Scott Dozier, was found hanging from an air vent in his cell at Ely State Prison
A 48-year-old death row inmate in Nevada who repeatedly attempted to take his own life after his execution was postponed twice has been found dead inside his prison cell, according to reports. The Nevada Department of Corrections, on Monday, confirmed that the inmate, identified as Scott Dozier, was found hanging from an air vent in his cell at Ely State Prison, according to the Mirror.
Dozier's execution process had been at the center of a debate over Nevada's use of certain controversial drugs in capital punishment in the state's first lethal injection in 12 years. Dozier was put on death row since 2007, for the murder of 22-year-old Jeremiah Miller, who was one of Dozier's drug associates in 2002.
