Dear White People special screening in LA sees a star-studded guestlist
Netflix's 'Dear White People' is coming back for a second season later this week and its special screening took place on Wednesday.
Cast members Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson, and Marque Richardson along with Creator and Executive Producer Justin Simien, Executive Producers Yvette Lee Bowser, Stephanie Allain, and Julia Lebedev were seen at the screening in Arclight Hollywood in LA.
Guest stars who also attended the screening were Lena Waithe, Fortune Feimster, Nia Jervier, Rudy Martinez, Jemar Michael, Wyatt Nash, Courtney Sauls, and Jeremy Tardy and Kris Bowers. Other special guests were also seen including comedians Kylie Bunbury and Kid Fury, Yaya DaCosta from Chicago Med, Brett Gray and Ronnie Hawk from 'On My Block', among others.
The show is set against the backdrop of a predominantly white Ivy League university where racial tensions bubble just below the surface.
The satirical series is based on the acclaimed 2014 film of the same name and continues to follow a group of Winchester University students of color as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness, or lack thereof, and activism in the millennial age.
