'Deadwater Fell' finale, Episode 4, will see the truth about Tom Kendrick  (David Tennant) and Kate Kendrick's (Anna Madeley) relationship come out in the open after all the secrets they kept from even the closest of their friends. Tom was a di***ead who mentally abused his wife within the four walls of their residence and tried to feign ignorance when it came to the kind of mental trauma that he was inflicting on his wife. When he was out with his wife and their friend Steve (Matthew McNulty) and Jess Milner (Cush Jumbo), a couple who are also neighbors, on the surface, it seemed like they were extremely close, but over the last three episodes, we saw the secrets spill one after another.

First, we learned that Tom and Jess had had sex one time, which Tom had revealed to Kate. He did so to ensure that his wife wouldn't rely on anyone but him. He had done so in the past as well and this seems to be a pattern. He also orders his wife around, forcing her to do chores or little things that she wouldn't have done otherwise. The abusive nature of his relationship with Kate is something that even his mother had picked on and once had even tried to offer Kate some help. However, she refuses any help and after having learned that another of her best friends fell for Tom's traps, she has no one to confide in.

Tom claims that his wife's depression and unstable mental health was what caused the fire accident but since he recovered from the fire accident and an investigation began, a lot of the details that Tom revealed turned out to be inaccurate. The fact that his daughters' room was locked or the fact that the insulin that was injected into all of them was something that was in his possession and not Kate's had been uncovered by his best friend Steve.

Steve also learned about his partner Jess cheating on him with Tom and the betrayal drives his investigation. The anger drives him to do things that he would have otherwise not considered, like witness tampering among other things. He also seems to recall one of the last conversations that he had had with Kate when she had said that her husband Tom would definitely kill her if he knew the truth.

The truth that Kate was speaking of, is the accident that she had caused on her daughter's birthday. Both her daughters and Jess had been in the car and Kate had requested that Steve hide this from her husband. Now that she really is dead, Steve believes that Tom had caused the fire. So when the curtain lifts on what and who caused the accident, Steve will definitely get some closure.

New episodes of 'Deadwater Fell' will air on Mondays on Acorn TV.
