The sea is unforgiving and that's a fact exacerbated by Discovery's 'Deadliest Catch'. The rough seas have never proved to be an ally and have always managed to inflict damage. The latest episode of the show, titled 'Danger Close', saw a lot of things going wrong with the Lady Alaska, Southern Wind and Cornelia Marie. For starters, Josh and Casey suffered a shock after they realized that there was an engine failure and tried to fix it.

Harley Davidson is back and he puts pressure on his crew members to change around their fishing strategy. As he says, "There's nobody more frustrated on this boat than me, I am frustrated, they are frustrated, but I've got to go pull something off." His crew members weren't entirely pleased with him and don't hesitate to show their resentment towards him either.

Lady Alaska hasn't had much luck with crab. Captain Scott is determined to return the boat to its former glory as it was once top of the heap, but he needs to think this through, as seawater destroys the hydraulic motors. Yet, just a while back, he said he's confident and says he can be "the payday" that they need. But without the hydros, "fishing is a no-go", as the narrator says. All said and done, Scott manages to find a solution to the burning problem that almost threatened his fishing expedition. It's a tough wait, but he manages. The most enthralling part of the episode was watching Lady Alaska's ventures, more than the others, as that stress was a little too much to handle.

Nevertheless, despite all odds, the crew members worked through their problems, though Harley did suffer a concussion for it, something many weren't too sorry to see. Apart from that, there was a slight worry about them losing millions of dollars too.

The sea's gifts come at a price, we suppose. Yet, as always, 'Deadliest Catch' delivered a nerve-wracking episode, fraught with tension, worry and yet the positivity of the crew members helps them survive in difficult waters. Well, no pain, no gain. Everything happens for a reason, as Josh says at the end of the episode. And, you get to celebrate with crabs.

'Deadliest Catch' airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on Discovery.
