'Deadliest Catch' Season 16 Episode 11: Junior's boat almost capsizes, fans wonder if 'Lady Alaska is cursed'

"Is the Lady Alaska cursed?" was one of the first questions asked by fans after the ship's never-ending mechanical woes almost saw it capsize. And by no means is this an exaggeration as the Discovery crew provides a detailed shot of the vessel listing on the Starboard side. Had it not been for the rescue vessel, Perseverance, another Discovery crew boat that came to the rescue, there would have been a serious incident.
Scott Campbell Junior might not be the most liked skipper on the show, but that didn't stop fans from praying for the safety of the man and his crew. Twitter was abuzz as worried fans expressed their shock and relief. "There's a first time for everything. And we just got our first almost sinking on #DeadliestCatch. Talk about a memorable episode," a fan tweeted. "This was a historic episode. Talk about some nerve-wracking moments. #DeadliestCatch" seconded another fan.
"Junior sure is lucky John from the @DeadliestCatch film crew had a bilge pump. Talk about a close call. #DeadliestCatch" shared one of the fans. The episode saw the bilge pump freeze and as a result, clogged water inside the boat. "@CaptScottJr holy sh*t bro!!! Count your blessings. Glad things worked out. #DeadliestCatch" wrote a fan. "Lord, this ship was almost about to sink #deadliestcatch," remarked another.
"Can the owner of a boat be sued selling a vessel that is full of holes and otherwise not seaworthy...how does butter test for such things....this kinda transaction literally could mean life and death.. #DeadliestCatch," asked one of the viewers. "I wonder why the Lady Alaska crew isn't in their Mayday Suits? You know, Just in case? #DeadliestCatch" was another question. "Okay. Time to abandon this junk pile to depths of the Bering Sea. Some fans felt Junior deserved it. "The lady Alaska ship is a piece of sh*t #DeadliestCatch but if the captain wasn’t a d**k when he came back this season maybe this bad shit wouldn’t happen to him," a fan wrote. "Did Jr just buy this boat and then take it out before going through it to make sure it was truly seaworthy?? #DeadliestCatch" asked a fan.
