PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON: Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) and Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) take up another interesting case in 'Dead Boy Detectives' Episode 4.

When Dagfinn asks them to get the ghosts out of his lighthouse in exchange for Saltwater Taffy and a Magic 8 Ball, the detective duo can't refuse.

During the investigation, Charles, Edwin, Niko Sasaki (Yuyu Kitamura), and Crystal Palace (Kassius Nelson) discover that a sea monster has been sending out a feeling for yearning with her light in order to feed herself and people follow the voices to death.

Mick (Michael Beach) tells the detectives that they just need to put the monster to sleep instead of killing her. In order to do that, they must play a lullaby for the creature and the rare musical instrument has to be placed very close to her.

While Charles, Edwin, Niko, and Crystal are planning how to feed the musical instrument to the creature, they are interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious woman near the lighthouse.

She introduces herself as a night nurse (Ruth Connell) who runs the Afterlife lost and found department.

She has come to Earth to take Charles and Edwin to their afterlife. When Charles resists, she torments him with flashbacks from his life.

She takes him back to the night he died in 1989. We see him freezing in water while his so-called friends throw stones at him. As he manages to escape the cold water, he is chased until he dies due to hypothermia and internal bleeding.

He is also tortured with another memory of his father brutally beating him while he keeps promising that he'll be good.

Despite the torture, Charles refuses to separate from Edwin, who is destined to go to hell. Instead, he grabs the musical instrument and hits the night nurse.

Though the attack doesn't cause her any injury, he keeps hitting her and he skillfully places the instrument in her hand and pushes her into the ocean.

As she plunges into the water, the sea creature appears and eats her. Thus, Charles manages to kill two birds with one stone. Not only they get rid of the night nurse, they also manage to put the monster to sleep by placing the musical instrument into her belly.
