WASHINGTON, DC: A bombshell divorce filing by a Washington, DC, mother has claimed that her political-consultant husband was stolen from her by Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Tim Mynett allegedly told his wife, Dr. Beth Mynett, in April that he was having an affair with the freshman congresswoman and even made a "shocking declaration of love" for her before ditching his wife, according to the document filed in the DC Superior Court on Tuesday, August 27, according to a New York Post report.

The 38-year-old father had previously worked for left-wing Democrats including Omar and her Minnesota predecessor Keith Ellison, and shares a 13-year-old son with his 55-year-old physician wife, Beth.

"The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when the Defendant told the Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar," the court papers stated. "Defendant met Rep. Omar while working for her," the document continued.

"Although devastated by the betrayal and deceit that preceded his abrupt declaration, the Plaintiff told the Defendant that she loved him, and was willing to fight for the marriage. The Defendant, however, told her that was not an option for him," and moved out of the home the next day, the report stated.

The filing further stated, "it is clear to the Plaintiff that her marriage to the Defendant is over and that there is no hope of reconciliation." The Mynetts married in 2012 after living together for six years. Meanwhile, Omar recently separated from her husband, according to multiple reports.

She had repeatedly made headlines as a member of "the Squad", a group of far-left female congresswomen including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley.

Since 2018, the 37-year-old congresswoman and mother-of-three has paid out approximately $230,000 to Tim Mynett and his E. Street Group from her campaign for fundraising consulting, digital communications, internet advertising, and travel expenses. In March, Omar was spotted holding hands with Mynett at a California restaurant, according to Daily Mail.

Now, Beth is seeking primary custody of their son partly because of Tim's "extensive travel" with Omar outside of his job description.

"The Defendant's more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments," the court papers stated.

Beth said in the document that Tim "was preoccupied and emotionally volatile" at home and that she has been juggling "the vast majority of responsibilities related to [their son's] school, medical care, and extracurricular activities," in the meantime.

She also added that because of her husband's relationship with Omar, she doesn't trust his judgment with their son anymore. "By way of example, days prior to the Defendant's devastating and shocking declaration of love for Rep. Omar and admission of their affair, he and Rep. Omar took the parties' son to dinner to formally meet for the first time at the family's favorite neighborhood restaurant while the Plaintiff was out of town," the papers stated.

"Rep. Omar gave the parties' son a gift and the Defendant later brought her back inside the family’s home," the document continued.

Beth stated the most concerning thing about the meeting was Tim's decision to "put his son in harm's way by taking him out in public with Rep. Omar, who at that time had garnered a plethora of media attention along with death threats, one rising to the level of arresting the known would-be assassin that same week."

The doctor said her husband "has a history of emotional volatility, that can cause him to become easily angered and rageful."

She claimed she had helped him launch and grow his career using her contacts and even financially supported him along the path, only to have him conveniently asserting after their separation that he is nearly broke, and his business is floundering," stated the documents.

In her complaint, Beth accused Tim of using "bullying tactics" and claims he has "begun threatening not to pay for his share of their joint financial responsibilities."

According to the filing, she is now seeking complete control of the couple's DC residence, child support, and legal fees.

Omar is currently married to Ahmed Hirsi, a former banker who worked as a senior policy aide to a Minnesota city councilwoman last year. She was previously married to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

President Trump has often alleged that Omar committed illegal immigration fraud by marrying Elmi, who is her brother and that they wed only so he could obtain American citizenship. Meanwhile, the Minnesota congresswoman has called the allegation "absolutely false and ridiculous."
