DC FanDome 2020: Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman' teaser drops, fans say film to 'rival all of Nolan’s trilogy'

Most were impressed with Robert's eyeshade in the photos, as well as his dark and gaunt look, a far cry from his Twilight days

DC FanDome is coming to a close, and what a day it has been for fans. The surprises kept coming, be it in the form of the new Snyder Cut trailer, or tidbits from 'Wonder Woman 1984', or watching new footage of Season 7 of 'The Flash'. There were many games, laughs and fans enjoyed watching their favourite heroes unwind and discuss their favourite moments from their films.

The last panel was the Batman panel. 'The Batman' film stars Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader. New images of Robert as Bruce Wayne began to go viral even before its panel on DC FanDome. Warner Bros bestowed these gifts on fans, and the joy knew no bounds. Most were impressed with Robert's eyeshade in the photos, as well as his dark and gaunt look. A far cry from his Twilight days, isn't it? The teaser was unveiled at the DC FanDome panel, and golly, it was a dark and haunting one. Batman's answer to being asked, who he is, he says he's vengeance. Gotham falls apart, and Batman struggles to save it, while battling his own demons. This is an entirely new and fresh take we've seen of the Batman, and Pattinson is all set to bring something different to the table.

At the panel, Matt Reeves explained that we're going to see Bruce at the beginning in his career, and he learns how to be Batman. "He's trying to figure out what he can do that can change this place," Reeves said. Selina Kyle aka Catwoman isn't Catwoman yet either.

"HOLY SHIT THAT BATMAN TRAILER WAS HYPE #DCFanDome," a fan tweeted.

"I REALLY diggin the RAGE he has! Yeah, I have issues. #TheBatman #Batman #DCFanDome," a fan tweeted.

Fans were thrilled after seeing the images of Robert Pattinson. "I really love the darkness in those images, #thebatman is definitely shaping up to be incredible," a fan tweeted.

Others are just hoping that the death of Bruce's parents won't be shown in this film, because we've seen enough of that in films. "Since the Batman character is an octogenarian, everybody knows his origins. In this Robert Pattison reboot, don't show Thomas and Martha dying in an alley again, please. The death of Bruce's parents, albeit sad, is redundant in movies," a fan wrote.

"Robert Pattinson is going to be an incredible Batman/Bruce Wayne. The cast is amazing. The film is going to rival all of Nolan’s trilogy, there I said it," another wrote.

"I believe Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz’s performances will be excellent as Batman and Catwoman. #Batman," a fan tweeted.

"This non-suave Bruce Wayne is very refreshing and oddly I’m kinda digging it way more, considering it isn’t hard to believe he’d be so disassociated:in-interested in his Wayne identity, especially at the start of his journey. #Batman #DCFanDome," a fan wrote.

'The Batman' will see a Bruce Wayne in his early days. The film has also been described as more "grounded" than the other recent DCEU movies, and it has been confirmed to be taking place in its own standalone universe. So there's a LOT to be excited about as 2021-2022, we'll see our heroes...and anti-heroes take us by surprise again.
