What if someone else turned up as your bride on your wedding day? In a bizarre scenario on ‘Days of Our Lives’, Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) replaces Belle Black (Martha Madison) at her wedding with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer). “If anyone does anything to get in the way of my perfect wedding, it’ll be Belle’s funeral!” she declares in the preview clip.

While Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) slips off to get some help and goes to rescue Belle, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) tells Shawn to give Jan what she wants. In a hurry, Dr Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) takes charge and pronounces Shawn and Jan husband and wife. As per the spoilers and promos, Jan then tells everyone Belle is already dead. That leads to a shocking twist as John attempts to strangle her. As Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) barges into the townhouse with Brady, it's too late to stop John’s attack. Losing his temper, he chokes Jan and she is unable to escape.

Going by the teasers, Belle will be found safe and sound and Jan will make her exit. Shawn, Eli, and Brady make all their effort to stop John from killing Jan but whether she dies or winds up in a coma again remains a mystery.

Speaking to Soap Opera, actress Heather Lindell said if Jan had her way, she would have picked a different dress, different venue, and different guests. However, for now, all that matters to Jan is that she is going to be Shawn’s wife. “She’s very excited on her wedding day… This is the day she’s been waiting for forever, and in her mind, it’s all going well. Not exactly what she would have picked: It’s Belle’s wedding dress, it’s Belle’s mom’s place, she had other ideas for her wedding, but the most important thing is that she’s marrying Shawn. In Jan’s world, that’s all that matters.” Only time will tell if she runs away, goes behind the bars, or lands in the psychiatric hospital yet again.

‘Days of Our Lives’ airs on NBC at 12 noon every weekday.
