Former 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actor David Henrie has been charged officially after he was caught carrying a loaded gun in LAX earlier this month.
David was taken into custody after the TSA agents found the gun. And according to TMZ, he has now been charged “carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, and possessing a weapon in a sterile area of the airport” by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. The weapon David was carrying was an M&P Shield 9mm pistol.
After the arrest, the actor took to Twitter and released a statement about what happened. “I take responsibility for the situation at LAX today," he said. "I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport. I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country.”
The news of David being arrested came almost a week after he and his wife, Maria Cahill, revealed that are expecting a baby girl. "ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. I'm a Poppa!!!!!!! I'm so overwhelmed with joy I had to share this with you guys. I’m already singing ‘I Loved Her First.’ That reminds me. Where’s my shotgun? I don’t have a shotgun. Someone get me a shotgun! I can’t wait to sit her down on a couch and tell her a nine-season story of 'How I Met Your Mother,'" David posted on social media.

David's actions were also criticized by Ariel Winter, who is a licensed gun owner herself. "I would never, ever accidentally bring my firearm anywhere," the 'Modern Family' actor said on Twitter. "I lock them up legally and know where they are at all times. That could be a deadly mistake."
If David happens to be convicted, he will face “a maximum of one year behind bars,” TMZ reports.
