Daughter of pedophile reveals how her father killed himself after being exposed by vigilantes
At least eight men in the UK who were publicly exposed as pedophiles ended up killing themselves, according to an investigative report.
BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire programme conducted an investigation into men who were "unmasked" by pedophile hunters and subsequently took their own lives. Their families believe the suicides started after videos of the men were shared on social media, making it a public embarrassment, BBC reports.
Michael Duff, one of the exposed pedophiles, killed himself in 2015 just two days after turning himself in to the police.
After Duff was ambushed by pedophile hunters who made him think he was meeting a 15-year-old boy, his daughter, Lesley, claims she started getting rape threats.
Speaking to Victoria Derbyshire, Lesley opened up about her predicament. "My friend said, ‘Look, I don’t really know how to say this to you Lesley, but there’s a video going around on Facebook – it’s your dad," she said.
