5-year-old girl dies after her head gets trapped in malfunctioning elevator installed at home

A devastated mother described how her 5-year-old daughter died when her head got trapped in the door of a malfunctioning elevator in their family home. Little Alexys Brown was described as a "guardian angel" to her 11-year-old disabled brother and was said to have entered the elevator to go upstairs and get his cell phone for him.
Unfortunately for the kid, her head got stuck in a hole in the broken Perspex door panel of the malfunctioning elevator which was activated. This caused the child to become trapped against the elevator and the ceiling.
