'Dare Me' Episode 4: Beth struggles to acknowledge truth, Addy risks relationship with coach to save her girl
Beth (Marlo Kelly) is portrayed as one of the toughest characters on the mystery-thriller series 'Dare Me', but through episode 4, 'Rapprochement', we learned that, under that pretense, lies a teenager who is as impuissant as any average human when it comes to dealing with bitter truths.
In Episode 4 of 'Dare Me', Beth and Tacy's father takes them to see a counselor in the wake of the cheerleading captain's gruesome action against her half-sister.
Although Beth puts up a rather carefree attitude while addressing her issues, she ultimately admits her struggles by the end of the session, breaking down and exposing us to her vulnerable side.
The Queen Bee who was once on the top of the game is now unable to retain a spot on the team, let alone lead them. Beth is trying hard to ensure her life gets back on track, but destiny seems to be dragging her away from normalcy.
Throughout 'Rapprochement', Beth is seen immersing her struggles in a pool of whiskey-soaked parties, while Addy (Herizen Guardiola) decides to let her hair loose for once by taking a break from her usual schedule and joining her main girl.
However, disaster befalls them when a neighbor calls cops on account of a verbal brawl outside the club, which was swamped with underage girls, with the majority of them representing the cheerleading team.
Addy with a lot of effort manages to drive an unconscious Beth to Coach's house, which doesn't go so well with Colette French (Willa Fitzgerald).
While the coach is highly furious with Addy for her actions, Beth wakes up to see herself bearing bruises and bleeding through the lips following a wild night out.
Addy may have managed to escape the cops on the outside, but how is she going to justify her actions to her mother who also serves in the police department?
Meanwhile, Beth, who is seeking pleasure in pain inflicted by her mindless actions, remains unaware of the consequences.
