‘Dare Me’ Episode 2: Beth and Addy’s distrust in each other threatens to mar their friendship and it’s only going to get uglier
Be it vengeance, intimidation or for that matter, even providing a close look at human crookedness, Episode 2 of USA’s ‘Dare Me’ had it all. ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’ apart from establishing the much-evident cracks in the main characters’ lives, also indicated the possible perils we can expect them to face.
Despite Beth’s disapproval of Addy’s growing proximity with their new coach, the latter for some strange reason has laid her trust in Collete blindly, not letting even the slightest of doubt or any of the coach’s actions alter her opinion.
So much so that, Addy conveniently overlooks Collete’s affair with Will, when the Sergeant reveals to her that he and Collete go way back, which according to him accounts for their trysts over the years.
We wouldn’t know if it's to land her a ticket to the university or out of mutual agreement that Addy goes to the extent of stealing Beth’s phone to get rid of the video which has the coach and Sergeant having sex in the middle of the woods.
Beth is a cheerleader with the intuitions of a wild cat and that’s what has always driven to conduct herself the way she always does. All along when her phone was missing, she was sure that Addy had stolen it only to snoop into it.
Addy manages to look through Beth’s phone gallery, only to see her face highlight all the videos and images. However, towards the end of the episode, we see Beth play the video on her personal computer, which Addy thinks has been erased for good and Collete has nothing to worry about.
Beth’s conversation with Mr. Coach marks her first attempt to ruin Collete’s life, and many more to come as she has acquired a solid proof to Collete’s infidelity, that could destroy Collete’s family in ways beyond unimaginable.
The upcoming episodes will see an enormous amount of drama, animosity, suspense and everything along those lines unfold as the weight of the characters’ wrath for one another has already begun to fall on them.
