The latest (October 19) episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 29 titled ‘Top 11’ took a rather unexpected turn. The least scored celebrity contestant Skai Jackson was saved while we saw figure skater Johnny Weir and professional footballer Vernon Davis in the bottom two.

Based on the live votes of the audience, collective scores by the judges and their final voting, Vernon and his pro-dancer partner Peta were eliminated. The couple had danced cha-cha to ‘Celebration’ by Kool & The Gang. Even though the judges enjoyed watching Vernon put his moves on display once again, they weren’t completely impressed with his overall performance. While Bruno Tonioli called Vernon and Peta’s performance "bright and colorful", but noted that he needed to focus on his footwork, Carrie Ann Inaba opined that there were “a lot of mistakes” in Vernon and Peta’s dance. The duo had received a total of 21.

Meanwhile, Johnny and Britt took to the stage to perform to salsa to Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull’s hit song ‘On the Floor’. While Johnny’s fans approved of his dance and couldn’t stop raving about the same on social media, the judges said that the expectations from Johnny were high following his performance last week, which he couldn’t keep up with. Johnny and Britt were among the bottom few on the rank chart with a tidal of 22.

However, two judges Derek and Bruno vote in favor of Johnny and Britt, thus sending them to the next round, while Vernon and Peta’s journey on 'DWTS' came to an end on tonight’s (October 19) episode. Vernon was also in the bottom two in the previous episode but was saved by the judges.

Many of Davis's fans seem upset about his elimination and have expressed on Twitter that they wished he stayed longer on ABC's dancing reality show. One tweeted, "Kinda wanted to see Vernon Davis stay this week #DWTS." While another added, "Ugh I'm so sad Vernon went home I loved him he was so happy to be there AAUUUGGGHHHH #dwts." And one fan said, "BRING VERNON BACK  BRING VERNON BACK #DWTS." Adding to the previous tweets another wrote, "I just want to say that Vernon shouldn’t have been voted off #DWTS."
