Figure skater Johnny Weir has been vocal about the struggles he's has endured owing to his sexuality and, in the latest, Monday November 9, episode of 'Dancing with the Stars', he opened up about messing up his 2006 Olympics performance. Before taking to the stage to dance to Amy Winehouse's 'Valerie', Johnny tells why the singer is his favorite icon. He talks about constantly being scrutinized by media and public as a celebrity and how he relates with Winehouse, who wasn't spared it either.

And then, Johnny tears up as he opens about his 2006 Olympics mishap. He says he completely blew his performance and became a laughing stock. Johnny blames a rough night for what happened. However, it didn't stop him from putting himself out there again as he returned for the 2010 Olympics and delivered a memorable performance. Johnny says he gave the best performance of his life, even though he didn't win any medal. Similarly, he delivered one of the best performances in tonight's episode as the judges seemed completely impressed with their dance to quick steps. Not only did they praise him for his brilliant performance, but Carrie Ann Inaba appreciated his confidence.

Soon, fans took to Twitter to extend their support and love to Johnny. while a few of them agreed that the media was hard on him following his 2006 Olympics performance, some said that he is back in action and couldn't have gotten better as a skater and performer. One wrote, "Man. I remember how quickly everyone turned on Johnny after the 2006 Olympics. It was hard to watch but he came back and he redeemed himself! #dwts." Another added, "#DWTS Johnny legit skated his ass off at that 2010 Olympics and he totally should've won the bronze. I highly suggest you Youtube his performances from then if you didn't see them."

The rest of the fans rejoiced the fact that he got a full score in the first round. One wrote, "Every time Johnny gets a perfect score it’s always deserved #DWTS," while another added, "Johnny and Britt slew their Amy Winehouse quickstep...every element of that number was a winner. #TeamBrijo #IconsNight #DWTS."
