'Dancing with the Stars': AJ McLean's score stresses fans out as he forgets 'Somebody to Love' choreography
In the latest episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’, which aired on November 9, celebrity contestants are paying tribute to their favorite pop icons. The ‘Backstreet’ singer AJ McLean and Cheryl Burke chose to dance to Queen’s ‘Somebody to Love’. Prior to his performance, AJ McLean remembers his grandmother, who passed away in 2001, and dedicates his dance performance to her and Freddie Mercury.
The musician was told by the judges to “express” himself following his previous performance. The duo begins their performance on a strong note. AJ and Cheryl put their moves on the display and the crowd continues to cheer until the singer faces a few hiccups. As the performance continues, AJ is seen stumbling on the dance floor, while his partner tries to bring him back to the track. There was also a point when he forgot the steps and it was quite evident.
Even though the judges seemed thrilled to watch AJ express himself better and come across stronger than his previous performances, they weren’t quite pleased with the thought of him forgetting the choreography. All the judges noted that he had improved a big deal compared to previous performances, but the latest one wasn’t up to the mark with the semi-finals only a week away.
He and Cheryl received all 8s from the judges. Even though the score that they received was decent, fans took to Twitter to express that they were worried about AJ, telling him to “just relax” before the second round, where the contestant will be battling off each other. One fan tweeted, "relax today you were very tense !! we love you!!" While another added, "Listening to @aj_mclean and @CherylBurke getting feedback stressed me out. I know he has this though! #DWTS"

Meanwhile, a few fans are of the opinion that he deserved a better score. One wrote, "Tonight the score wasn't high but this doesn't represent all your path until now, we know you work much hard to be the best you can on the dance floor and this is what matters! Congratulations once again @aj_mclean @CherylBurke We're very proud! " Another added, "Was hoping the judges were going to score higher. It was a great dance Cheryl and AJ. #TeamPrettyMessedUp #DWTS
