During an appearance at a Montgomery Tea Party PAC meeting, Representative Dan Crenshaw of Texas got into a heated discussion with a young girl. Crenshaw chastised the young woman after she asked him a question about a comment he had made on a podcast, according to a video provided by Scott T Parkinson on Twitter. According to the video, the lady cited the congressman as stating that Jesus is a hero archetype similar to Superman, prompting Crenshaw to retort, "Don't question my religion."

The girl was referring to a comment Crenshaw made on the Jocko Podcast in 2020. On the show, Crenshaw's book 'Fortitude' was addressed along with a discussion regarding role models.

Crenshaw said on the podcast, "The important thing is that we have societal hero archetypes that we look up to. Jesus is a hero archetype. Superman is a hero archetype. Real characters too, you know, I could name a thousand. You know, Rosa Parks, Ronald Reagan, all of these people embody certain attributes that the American people think This is good."

When the girl says, "I can't wrap my head around this," Crenshaw informs her she has to add a period after Jesus' name. He tells her, "Don't question my faith."

Crenshaw's whole performance was uploaded on social media platforms by many and the video went viral. Members of the audience can be heard booing Crenshaw and asking him not to talk to the girl in that manner in the video.

Crenshaw is heard saying during the exchange with the audience, "Nowhere in that quote am I saying Jesus is not real. That's a ridiculous statement.”

Someone in the audience can be heard asking Crenshaw if Jesus is God's son. The Texas lawmaker replied, "Of course, he's the son of God.” The young woman persists in her interrogation, saying, "You can say two different things. You can say that on a podcast, and you can say this here." Crenshaw replied, "On the podcast, nobody would have understood it that way. I think you're twisting it that way, which is not very Christ-like, which is not very Christian. It's not. It's not, and I'm not going to have my faith questioned."
