Cowboys vs Seahawks: Seattle QB Russell Wilson makes a strong case for MVP after setting new NFL record
Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks was one helluva game. Despite a disciplined game by the Cowboys, they fell short as Seahawks edged them 38-31 on Sunday, September 27. Much of the action unfurled in the second half when Dak Prescott threw for more than 400 yards in his second consecutive game. However, the day belonged to Russell Wilson as the quarterback overshadowed just about everyone else's performance with five touchdowns with a 130.7 passer rating.
It was also an "achievement unlocked" moment as Wilson passed Patrick Mahomes for the most touchdowns through three games in NFL history. It has been a brilliant start for the QB so far as he's completed 76.7% of his passes for 925 yards, 14 touchdowns and had just one interception in three games. This is has been instrumental as Seattle has won two of their three games.
His Sunday performance was also lauded on Twitter with fans dubbing him as a prime MVP contender for this season. "He has been on fire, his receivers are getting 5 yard open in most plays — speaks value to their play calling. He is MVP for sure," read one of the tweets soon after the game.

It wasn't that Wilson had an off day when the Seahawks lost to the Patriots. "Week before Wilson threw 5 TDs against a Patriots defense. Week before he had a slow start — 'only' 4 TDs," a fan commented outlining Wilson's start this season.

"OTOH, I am now fully convinced that Russell Wilson belongs in the Brady/Brees/Rodgers grouping. He threw that last TD pass off his back foot, and it was perfectly arched and located!" a fan remarked praising Wilson.

Mahomes of the reigning champions, Kansas City Chiefs threw 13 touchdowns in his MVP season in 2018. As far as the scrimmage went, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott ended his day with 37 of 57 for 472 yards that saw him at a best career high in yards and attempts — with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Seahawks face the Miami Dolphins on October 4.
Do you think Wilson will be the main contender for MVP this season?
