Daisy Rodriguez: Utah man's wife discovers she's pregnant hours after his death in tragic accident
SANTAQUIN, UTAH: Just hours after the tragic death of her husband who was killed when one of their sons accidentally ran their truck over him, she found out she was pregnant. The boy climbed into the family's truck, pulled a faulty gear shift, and hit the father, Jonathan Rodriguez, 23, and the grandmother, Sonia.
The incident occurred at their Santaquin home on Saturday, May 6. According to the police, the father-of-two was pronounced dead at the scene. Sonia was airlifted to a medical facility where she is currently being treated for serious wounds and is awaiting multiple surgeries. A day after his death, his wife was also rushed to the hospital where she was discovered pregnant with their third child, reported Daily Mail.

Jonathan's 'final gift' to Daisy
Describing the miracle as the late man's "final gift" to his pregnant wife. The pair were unaware they were expecting another child as they found out the news only after the tragic death. They shared two sons, aged five and three. In a GoFundMe page set up by his sister-in-law Sara Munoz, she described him as someone who "loved his wife tremendously," and said, "Together they raised two young boys who loved their father. He was their role model and best friend. Jonathan loved his family and always put them first before anything else."
What led to the tragedy?
On GoFundMe, the page was organized to meet the family's expenses and funeral costs, Sara wrote, "On May 6, 2023, a devastating accident occurred in the home of my sister Daisy Rodriguez. My sister along with her husband and his family were fixing up their backyard when tragedy struck. While working on the yard, a truck that was parked next to the house rolled back towards the yard.
"My sister's husband Jonathan Rodriguez alongside his mother Sonia Rodriguez tried to stop the vehicle from continuing to roll down the yard that sits on a slope. But unfortunately, their efforts cost them being crushed by the truck. Paramedics arrived and tried to resuscitate Jonathan, but he was pronounced dead at the scene," she continued.
"My sister was admitted to ER last night due to some complications. After running some tests, she was told she is currently pregnant. Jonathan’s last gift to sister and they didn’t even know it," Sara wrote in an update on GoFundMe on May 7.
