A Virginia dad has blasted Attorney General Merrick Garland after he threatened a group of parents protesting a school board’s proposed transgender policies. Scott Smith was arrested in June at a Loudoun County school board meeting, where after listening to the school board defend its transgender bathroom policies, he claimed that his daughter was raped in a girls' bathroom by a “skirt-wearing” male student.

Smith gave an interview to Fox News' ‘The Ingraham Angle', where he said that a boy “wearing a skirt” sexually assaulted his daughter at Stone Bridge High School on May 28. He also claimed that the suspect took advantage of the trans policies to get access to the bathroom before slamming Garland for suppressing the demonstrations at board meetings.

Last week, Garland said, “Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation's core values. Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.” The Justice Department also added that any parent who seems to be “threatening” towards school staff will be probed and prosecuted by the FBI.

In response to that order, the 48-year-old father told Laura Ingraham, “That's really scary that our government will weaponize themselves against parents and using my video across the nation to spread fear. That's wrong. I am not a bully. I am not a racist. I love everyone. I love this country. I want better stuff for it.”

About the June 22 incident, when he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at the school board meeting, Smith said, “I am good with gay people and cross-gender people – Anybody who wants to be a good American, I am good with – I went there to find out why our children were not safe. The next thing I know, another parent-activist approached my wife and starting antagonizing her, and I turned around and said stop.”

Smith mentioned that he attempted to explain everything to that woman, but “she looked me dead in the face and said, ‘that's not what happened’ - That struck me – how do you know what happened, you don't even know me.” He was then dragged out of the meeting and detained. “This didn't have to happen. This could have been handled a lot differently,” the father added.

On June 22, Loudoun County School Superintendent Scott Ziegler said that no form of such incident as alleged by Smith took place at the school’s bathroom or locker room. “To my knowledge, we don't have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms,” Ziegler noted. He also quoted research by Time magazine that he claimed negates the notion that transgender kids might sexually abuse cisgenders. He added: “I think it's important to keep our perspective on this, we've heard it several times tonight from our public speakers but the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist.”

However, in September, the boy -- whose identity has been concealed because of his age -- was arrested for forced sodomy. Not just that, the following month also, he was taken into custody for allegedly abusing another girl, at a different school. For the October 6 case, he has been pressed with "sexual battery and abduction" charges. Currently, the accused has been held at a juvenile detention center.

Smith told Ingraham that after he got to know about the accused’s arrest, he decided to speak up. “Within half an hour, it was confirmed that yes, this did happen. I basically said that's it. I won't stay quiet anymore,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Smith's attorney said, “If someone would have sat and listened for thirty seconds to what Scott had to say, they would have been mortified and heartbroken. I don't care if he's [the suspect] homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, transsexual. He's a sexual predator.”

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office also confirmed the October incident and said in a press release, “A teenager from Ashburn has been charged with sexual battery and abduction of a fellow student at Broad Run High School. The investigation determined on the afternoon of October 6, the 15-year-old suspect forced the victim into an empty classroom where he held her against her will and inappropriately touched her.”
