The infamous murder case is about four university students from Idaho who were found dead on November 13, 2022.

The students were reportedly fatally stabbed in an off-campus residence close to the university. The victims were Kaylee Goncalves (21), Madison Mogen (21), Xana Kernodle (20), and Ethan Chapin (20).

The two other roommates, who were also present at the time but unharmed, were the subject of much speculation.

The killings sent shockwaves through the university, as locals and students voiced worries about security and safety.

The suspect, Bryan Kohberger, was arrested at his Pennsylvania family home on December 30, 2022. Kohberger, born in 1994, faces four counts of murder and one count of burglary.

Police moved quickly to make an arrest after reportedly discovering a match between Kohberger's DNA and that of a leather knife sheath that had been discovered on the beds of Mogen and Goncalves.

The Moscow Police Department and the FBI are collaborating to gather evidence as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

Where is Bryan Kohberger now?

Kohberger, who was taken into custody as a murder suspect, is still awaiting the start of his trial.

The prosecution has requested that the trial be held this summer when schools are not in session, but it is unclear whether it will begin then.

Though nothing has been decided as of yet, CBS News reports that the prosecutors have asked for the suspect's trial to start this summer to avoid scheduling conflicts with nearby colleges and schools.

Moscow High School's building is right next to the courthouse grounds, so this would minimize any further disruption for the students.
