'Legacies': Will the cast of 'The Originals' make an appearance on the show?

A spin-off of 'The Originals', 'Legacies' may just show us some familiar faces as the series progresses

'Legacies': Will the cast of 'The Originals' make an appearance on the show?

For the longest time, fans of CW's 'Legacies' have wondered if they would see familiar faces from the cast of 'The Originals' or 'The Vampire Diaries' on the show. After all, it is a spin-off of 'The Originals' (which is a spin-off of 'The Vampire Diaries') and has a storyline that continues from where The Originals' season finale left off.

While showrunner Julie Plec did promise we would see Caroline Forbes, who was a prominent character in both 'The Originals' and 'The Vampire Diaries', there wasn't much said about the rest of the vampire-hybrid gang. Danielle Rose Russell, who plays Hope Mikaelson on 'Legacies', however, did let on that we would be revisiting New Orleans. Fans are wondering if this means we would see Kole Mikaelson, Freya Mikaelson, Marcel Gerard, Elijah Mikaelson, and Klaus Mikaelson again.

While there is no way that Elijah and Klaus would come back from the dead to the present time, they could make cameos on the show in flashbacks. 'Legacies' already established in the second episode that Hope is a lot like her father Klaus and has a lot of emotional baggage left over from her life in New Orleans

The Mikaelson family did make an appearance through photos in the second episode and we know Hope keeps referring to them as though they are always with her. Both 'The Originals' and 'The Vampire Diaries' have the habit of bringing back characters as a surprise for fans, so there's no telling if Hope would go into the other dimension to seek their advice or if she would just think about the good times. She might, considering how hard her life at the Salvatore School has been so far. From tackling mean girls to being betrayed by her love interest, our Tribrid teen heroine has endured it all.

As for Kol and Marcel, it probably won't happen. Even though they were a huge part of keeping Hope alive in 'The Originals', they weren't too close to her. Freya, on the other hand, taught her niece Hope everything she needed to know about magic.

She may reach out to her aunt for help with any of the monsters that keep showing up at the school. It is also possible that when the mystery of the knife is revealed, Freya may need to step in to keep Hope safe. Her last known status was that she was alive after she bid goodbye to her brothers Klaus and Elijah.

Even if we don't see these characters, we will definitely get to see the city where it all started for sure. It's hard to pinpoint which places we would see first or at all, although we are hoping it is all of them - The French Quarter where Klaus fell in love with Camille O'Connell, the voodoo shop that Vincent Griffith would so often visit, the creepy Lafayette Cemetery where all of the witches practiced their magic and St. Anne's Church where Davina Claire built her magical lair.

These are all the places Hope has been seen and been associated with in some way or the other in her short but tumultuous life with her family in the city. Especially in the last few episodes in the final season of 'The Originals', she did visit all of these places on her quest to save her family and herself. Hopefully, fans can settle for that.

'Legacies' airs every Thursday on The CW.
