'Cursed Films': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about AMC’s Shudder horror docuseries
AMC networks streaming service, Shudder, is releasing a documentary series examining the mysteries behind horror films including 'The Exorcist', 'Poltergeist' and 'The Omen', among others. The documentary 'Cursed Films' explores the misfortune and tragedy brought on the film’s cast and crew members, examining the facts and myths surrounding these iconic films and franchises.

The series will premiere on Shudder on April 2, 2020.
Plot
'Cursed Films' will reveal the events that haunted productions including ‘The Exorcist’, ‘Poltergeist’, ‘The Omen’, ‘The Crow’, and ‘Twilight Zone: The Movie’ through interviews with experts, witnesses, cast, directors, and producers who lived through real-life events. Each episode of the documentary will focus on a specific movie, documenting the interviews of the people from the movie involved in the events. Those interviewed for the show from the streaming service include 'The Omen' director Richard Donner, 'The Exorcist' star Linda Blair, horror icons Kane Hodder and Michael Berryman and many more.

Richard Donner
Richard Donner an American director and producer, known for his action blockbusters. He has directed many movies and television series including, 'Route 66', 'Salt and Pepper', 'Superman' and many more. In 1976, he directed the film 'The Omen', a violent supernatural thriller. It was a critical and commercial success.
Linda Blair
Linda Blair is an American actress who played the possessed child in 'The Exorcist'. She started as a child model who then stepped into the movie industry. She was the lead actress in many movies and television series including, 'Born Innocent',' Exorcist: The Heretic', 'Chained Heat', etc. Her career went downhill after she was arrested for buying cocaine at the age of 18.
Kane Hodder
Kane Hodder is an actor, stuntman and author. He is famous for his role in 'Friday the 13th' franchise. He has been the only actor to play three of the most infamous horror icons in the history of horror films. Besides playing Jason Voorhees in four different films, he also played Freddy Krueger's gloved hand at the end of 'Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday' (1993) and did the stunts for Leatherface in 'Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III' (1990).

'Cursed Films' is written, directed and edited by Jay Cheel. He is a Canadian filmmaker mainly known for directing feature-length documentaries and short films. 'Cursed Films' offers Shudder’s audience a unique perspective on the making of these classic movies while attempting to uncover why we’re so captivated by the catastrophes and coincidences connected to them,” according to Cheel. The documentary series is produced by Andrew Nicholas McCann Smith and Laura Perlmutter along with Jay Cheel and Brian Robertson.
Trailer
Each episode will focus on a single film, with 'Poltergeist' leading the pack in episode one. The other movies explored will be 'The Exorcist', 'The Omen', 'The Crow,' and 'Twilight Zone: The Movie'.
Where to watch
On April 2, the series will begin streaming on Shudder with The Exorcist episode, then Poltergeist and The Omen will air on April 9, with The Crow and Twilight Zone: The Movie following on April 16.
