'Crisis on Infinite Earths': How the multiverse-shattering battle may change the future of the Arrowverse?

We see a new generation of heroes taking the Arrowverse forward but there might be a chance that a new future is being created as well.

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' is all set to bring in some major changes in the Arrowverse. The lives of numerous superheroes are at stake with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) aka Arrow's death already foretold along with Barry Allen's Flash (Grant Gustin). The question at the moment is, "Will this change the future of the Arrowverse?"

In a nutshell, yes. The last couple of seasons of 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' have established enough heroes who would take the Arrowverse forward. For instance, we have Jessica Parker Kennedy's Nora West-Allen, aka XS, Barry's daughter. A speedster herself, she grows up without her father in the future. In the previous season, she travels back in time in an attempt to save Barry from the 'Crisis.' However, the tampering with the timeline leads to Eobard Thawne, aka The Reverse-Flash, escape custody and this also sees Nora removed from existence.

'Arrow' has its share of problems as well with Star City becoming a rough place to live after Oliver's apparent death during 'Crisis.' With the Deathstroke gang taking over the city, hopes rest on the Knightwatch gang (including Joh Diggle's adopted son Connor Hawke) and the Canary Network. Mia Smoak and William Clayton (Oliver's children) come to Star City to find answers about their family and eventually go on to become heroes.

'Crisis' is DC's biggest crossover event yet and it could drastically alter the futures that have been sort of established within the Arrowverse. Over time, it has been established that messing with the timelines and the past could actually impact the characters' lives. In a way, while we can see a new generation of heroes taking the Arrowverse forward, there might be a chance we may see a new future created as well. After all, the comics version of 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' signals the end of the DC multiverse.  The story has multiple alternate realities collapsing on one another forming a single universe.

At this stage, it's pure speculation, but considering Arrowverse's dedication to the comics, trying to create a single universe led to another DC Crossover event, 'Zero Hour'. And, that may be their plan for the future. For now, the official word out there is the confirmation of a potential spin-off series revolving around Mia that will happen during the final season of 'Arrow.' This suggests that new heroes will be taking the Arrowverse forward and some bits of the past will linger on. It remains to be seen what plans the network has post 'Crisis'.

Here's The CW's schedule for the next big crossover: 'Supergirl' - December 8; 'Batwoman' - December 9; 'The Flash' - December 10; 'Arrow' - January 14 and 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow - January 14.
