'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 2: 'The Death of Superman', Batman's villains, and all the other easter eggs from the episode

There's been a whole lot of easter eggs and references in The CW's 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover. Here is every easter egg reference we could find in the episode, in case you want to go back and see what you missed
PUBLISHED DEC 10, 2019

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 1 had a fair number of easter eggs to the greater world of DC Comics and Part 2 has continued the trend with a lot more. The episode briefly took us to the world of 'Smallville', which gave us quite a few interesting references, and you can check out the full story of the 'Smallville' scene here

Besides the 'Smallville' treats, the episode also had a few other interesting easter eggs. Here is every easter egg reference we could find in the episode, in case you want to go back and see what you missed:

Leonard Snart AI

Captain Cold / Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) doesn't make a full appearance in the episode but we do meet an AI based on him when Lyla Michaels / Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson) finds a Waverider from a different universe for the Arrowverse heroes to use as their new base.

Though his full name and connection to the supervillain/anti-hero haven't been fully revealed yet, it's still a nice treat for fans of the character.

Tome of the Guardians (of the Universe?)

People have been hoping to see the Green Lanterns in the Arrowverse since the very beginning of the shared universe. Part 2 finally teased the existence of the GLs, or at least of their masters, the Guardians of the Universe.

The Tome of the Guardians is mentioned as the book from which the Monitor / Mar Novu (LaMonica Garrett) learned of the identities of the Paragons. The book could be a reference to the Book of Oa, an ancient book of prophecy in the possession of the Guardians in the comics.

'The Death of Superman'

The Death of Superman recreated for Crisis on Infinite Earths (The CW)

The episode recreates the iconic cover art for 'The Death of Superman' comics in a news clip showing the murder of the Man of Steel at the hands of his alternate universe nemesis Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer).

We did suspect the crossover would give us the death of at least one of its Kryptonian heroes and while this wasn't what we expected, it's still a fun reference to one of the best comic book stories ever told.

'Superman Returns' and 'Kingdom Come'

Speaking of Superman, Brandon Routh's return to the role was one of the most anticipated things going into 'Crisis'. He finally makes his debut in the episode, complete with the iconic theme music from the movie.

In case anyone was wondering if this is the same Superman, Routh's character confirms it by mentioning he has a son named Jason. We also see the framed front page of a newspaper that recreates art from the 'Kingdom Come' graphic novel showing the Joker's tragic attack on the Daily Planet.

Batman's Rogues Gallery

The Dark Knight's Rogues Gallery consists of some of the most recognizable villains in all of fiction. In the episode, we see them reduced to a display case filled with trophies taken by an alternate universe Batman (Kevin Conroy) after he killed them all.

Joker's card, Riddler's walking stick, and Mr. Freeze's snowglobe are quite clearly visible but if you look close enough you'll also be able to spot a jar with a dead plant in it, possibly a trophy from Poison Ivy.

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 3 will air on The CW on December 10.
