'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 2: Barry's desperation to revive Oliver is understandable, but it's also time he moves on
This article contains spoilers for 'Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2'
If anything, 'Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 1' has been ambitious and gripping. By killing off Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), the episode set the tone for what could rightly be called a grim affair. Part 2 sees the heroes try and revive Oliver by immersing him in the Lazarus pit, only for him to emerge as a rage-filled being without his soul. Sara (Caity Lotz), Mia (Kate McNamara) and Barry (Grant Gustin) work with Constantine in their plan to get Oliver back. He locates them a Lazarus Pit while Sara and Constantine work together to bring back his soul.
Through all this, it's safe to say Barry and Mia are the most affected and for the former, the connection comes as a friend and an able ally. And whether the team succeeds or not in reviving Oliver, Barry will have to plow through and find a way to move past the Green Arrow's death. Barry is one of the heroes prophesized to die in the 'Crisis' and it does seem like he's put the thought behind by focusing on bringing Oliver back to life. He also foresaw his death when he visited Jay Garrick (John Shipp) on earth-3.
Also, considering Barry's past where he's lost Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), it is understandable that he isn't keen on losing a friend. But again, this is the 'Crisis' and if anything there's scope for Oliver to return. One of the theories being him returning as Spectre. For now, the task at hand for Barry is simple, try and save lives.
What are your thoughts on the trio's attempts to revive Oliver?
'Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3' will air on Tuesday at 8 pm on The CW.
