'Crisis on Infinite Earths': Everything you need to know about Brandon Routh's Kingdom Come Superman in the epic multiverse battle
The 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' is an epic multiverse-shattering battle. The war against the Anti-Monitor will see heroes and villains of multiple universes join forces to defeat the ultimate villain.
One of the most-anticipated superheroes is Brandon Routh's Kingdom Come Superman. With the storyline revolving around entire worlds destroyed by the entity, it makes sense for the Kingdom Come Superman to join the battle.
At the moment it is unclear if Routh's version will be similar to the comics hero — grey-haired and grimmer. The Arrowverse is quite dedicated when it comes to accurate representations, so it's highly likely that this hero's version will closely reference the comics.
In the comics, the Kingdom Come Superman is portrayed as an older version of the Kryptonian hero, stoic and intimidating. His symbol was an altered S with the yellow background changed to black.
It was a rather dark representation of the superhero who retreated to his Fortress of Solitude for a decade after the death of Lois Lane. According to Screenrant, this was a hero who had lost his faith in humanity and was not his usual gentle, caring self.
He set the world right on his own terms. The epilogue of the comic saw him make peace with Batman and begin a romantic relationship with Wonder Woman. It is still unclear how much of this storyline will be used for 'Crisis'.
Routh had recently put an image on Instagram in the full Kingdom Come Superman suit. The event will feature three Supermen: Routh, Arrowverse's Tyler Hoechlin, and Tom Welling from 'Smallville', who is reprising the role eight years after the long-running series signed off.
In addition, the battle will also see 1966's Batman star Burt Ward play a role. 'Celebrated Batman: The Animated Series' voice actor Kevin Conroy will feature as an aged Bruce Wayne.
Most recently, it was also confirmed that Ashley Scott will reprise her role of the Huntress from the short-lived 'Birds of Prey' series from 2002. Looks like 'Crisis' is set for a massive showdown.
