Chilling case of SS Ourang Medan: Crew sent terrifying SOS message before being found dead with faces frozen in horror
More than 70 years after its supposed disappearance, the SS Ourang Medan, which disappeared without a trace in 1948, continues to remain one of humanity's greatest maritime mysteries. Every single crew member was reportedly found dead with an expression of horror on their faces and no sign of visible injury and a newly revealed SOS call sent from one of those on the ship has only deepened the mystery further.
According to The Sun, the Dutch vessel sent out the distress signal while it was traversing the Strait of Malacca, which also happens to be the same area where Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 similarly disappeared without a trace in 2014.
The Ourang Medan mystery is far more interesting to me, because there was actually a broadcast received from the ship before they found it adrift in the straights of Malacca in 1947. The last thing heard from the doomed crew was "I die."
