‘The Bachelor’ season 16 winner Courtney Robertson is engaged and expecting her first child: 'Happy Holidays from the three of us'
Courtney Robertson, the winner of ‘The Bachelor’ season 16, is both engaged and expecting her first child.
The 36-year-old announced on Instagram on Monday that she is engaged to Humberto Preciado. In a series of photos with Preciado and one with her engagement ring, Robertson wrote, “Happy Holidays from the three of us. I can’t wait to marry this man, with our son there. Easiest ‘YES’ I’ve ever said.”
In one of the photos, the couple can be seen holding up a onesie that reads “I [heart] NY.”
According to People Magazine, it is unclear when Robertson and Preciado began dating. The first photo of them as a couple arrived on Robertson’s Instagram feed in May, when they posed for a selfie at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar in Phoenix.
Preciado posted the first image of Robertson on his own Instagram the following month in June.
The couple reportedly met on Instagram. Speaking to Us Weekly, Robertson said, “There was just a level of comfort and connection that I’ve never felt before. I never believed in that feeling of when you know, you know until I met him. Nor have I been with someone that I so clearly wanted to start a family with.”
She added, “He had ‘liked’ a photo of mine on Instagram and I recognized his name. I remember like 10 years ago a friend of mine telling me about a guy she liked, Humberto. His name is so unique. I didn’t put it together right away, but I was like, ‘Wait, have we met before?. ‘This guy is cute. Oh my gosh, he lives in Arizona.’ I DM’d him and then we went out a couple of days later and we’ve been together for eight months. He moved in in July, and the rest is history.”
According to Us Weekly, Robertson is 14 weeks pregnant. Regarding the pregnancy, she said, “He was out of town for a conference for work. I had one of those period tracker things, and I was a day late. I’m calling him like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I think I need to take a test. I think I’m pregnant, I’m so excited’. He’s like, ‘Just wait until I come home,’ which of course, I couldn’t. He was like, ‘OK, just call me when you do it and I’ll just step out of the conference.’ He did and he was so excited. He bought some little baby stuff when he was there and came home the next day.”
In 2012, Robertson won the reality show ‘The Bachelor’ and got engaged to Ben Flajnik, the titular “bachelor” on the show. However, seven months after their engagement, the two parted ways.
