'Counting On': John David Duggar paints Abbie's nails because he wants to spend more time with her and fans are impressed
John David Duggar could definitely win the title for best husband after he decided to paint Abbie's nails. John wanted to help Abbie with her nails as he thought it would be the best way to spend more time with her.
While John was no professional, he made it a point to learn the ins and outs of doing a perfect nail by looking at how others do it. However, it was a practice that started even before the two got married. "I paint Abbie's nails quite often," he revealed. Abbie admitted that John did a good job doing her nails.
She further added that he improved every time that he did it. "I learned by going with her one time to a nail salon. I just watched the person do her nails, and I thought, 'You know what, that ain't that hard, and they're making a lot of money doing it.' I'd rather be the one spending time with my wife, versus paying somebody else to spend time with her," he said.
He further added that it was another way for them to save money. "I did her nails and she did my hair," he said. John also had something to say to anyone who thought what he was going was "feminine". He stated that it "takes a real man to do this."
Meanwhile, Abbie added, "I think it is extremely romantic to have my own personal, handsome manicurist at home." Fans were impressed with the romantic gesture of John and many took to social media to share their thoughts. "Not gonna lie, he’s such a sweetheart! Their daughter will sure be one lucky gal having this gentleman as her father," read one comment.
Another added, "Adorable. He’s such an honest to goodness, stand up, respectable individual. Totally over the moon for his wife." Some even shared their story as one wrote, "Growing up my dad would paint my nails. Every time he went to the store he would see what new nail polish was out and pick it up for me. My dad took care of his nails to. He kept them trimmed and clean."
